Mentor Handbook
Reference Form

Become a mentor

  • Sign up online for the next mentor training
  • Attend a mentor information/training session
  • Submit your application and obtain references
  • Obtain your background checks (at no cost to you)
  • Become matched to a mentee
  • Plan your first meeting

The program’s goal is to provide one-on-one interaction with a mentee to achieve healthy decision making and problem solving skills, in addition to raising self confidence in order to succeed in today's society. The program will train mentors, match them with mentees and offer resources for success. It will also offer regular opportunities for all involved to come together for both social and educational activities.

Are you an adoptive or foster mom with a child(ren) that you think could benefit from a mentor in his/her life? Maybe you are a single mom and your son could benefit from some "guy time" out. Single dads, we know you are there too. We have a place for you as well. Fill out the application to get started. We want to support you!

Request a mentor

  • Contact our Mentoring Coordinator here: Audrey Smiley
OR our Foster Care Coordinator: Mandy Keegan
  • Submit an application for your youth.
  • Matching to a mentor takes place.
  • Plan the first meeting.

If your child is currently in care, here is a form for the agency/county you work with.

We are grant recipients!

Donations/Sponsorship Options

Would you consider a gift? To ease the process of becoming a mentor, we are not requiring mentors to cover some of the costs involved. We very much would like to keep this process as painless, but as protected, as possible. You can still be a part! Here are a few ideas:
  • Not able to become a mentor at this time, but you would like to sponsor someone else to do so. Background checks for each person are $65. *Grant supplied until June 30, 2016.
  • Sponsor a mentor/mentee to have a special night out like bowling, the movies, dinner or ice cream.
  • Help with gas cards for travel for mentors.
  • Or maybe you would like to do both or all of the above!
Head over to our GIVE page! All donations are tax deductible.
